Tessa Ferrara Swivel Armchair – Rare Mid-Century Australian Design in good Vintage Condition

A stunning set of vintage Tessa Ferrara swivel armchairs by renowned Australian designer Fred Lowen for Tessa Furniture (formerly FLER). These iconic mid-century modern pieces feature sculptural light beech wood frames, plush light grey leather upholstery, and smooth 360-degree swivel bases for exceptional comfort and versatility. Also available is the matching two-seater sofa, creating a cohesive and luxurious lounge setting.

This Ferrara design is one of Tessa’s rarer and most sought-after models — less common than their more standard lines, with its organic curved arms, supportive segmented cushions, and distinctive floating silhouette. These chairs have aged beautifully and remain highly collectible, often compared to high-end Scandinavian designs like the Falcon chair but built with superior strength (including a metal sub-structure under the timber frame). Perfect for a modern living room, reading nook, or retro-inspired interior.

Condition: Good vintage condition with supple, leather showing only light, natural wear consistent with age and gentle use — no major tears, cracks, or structural issues. The wood frames are solid with some signs of age that add authentic character. These have been well cared for and are ready to enjoy for decades more. Please note that there’s a bit of give on the clips of each cushion but this could be replaced if you were bothered by it and doesn’t detract from the overall look and use of the swivel.
